I was inspired by the contest idea of creating something to illustrate one of Metallica's songs. (That's why size and dimensions are like a CD cover too ) So I chose "Welcome Home, Sanitarium" and here are the lyrics...

By the way, to look further in what I did, it inspires me somewhere like smaller asylum where met several mental pathologies. Then they're in fact in a room they can escape, a little like the Hell as Jean Paul Sartre described it in "Huis Clos". That is to say : "L'enfer, c'est les autres." (Hell, is other people).

Well for the ones I chose you can see at first a young girl, laughing after commited murder. Blood on her hands. She's the Crazy Young Murderer. After her in the corner of the room is someone assexual I guess, hidden behind a mask and hands up as he wanted to hide again from the others. He's the Autistic Witness. Now the woman in white, very expressive, dramatic and well dressed as romantic virgin maybe. She could not escape ever if the window is open, she can not accept what she lives and decided to inject something deeply inside her core with serynge. She's the Melancholic Virgin, desperate of everything. Finally the girl on the floor is no one. She's the Murder, the only one who can find death and peace among her own suffering and blood...
